Innocent little Society…not!

Society has women wrapped around it’s little finger. Every since before the roman coliseum, women have changed their image to fit what society thought was in. Now with the help of media, society has made it even harder to be yourself. Everyone sees the ads for makeup and hair items, but do they actually work? When you watch an ad for let’s say the new Maybelline mascara, have you ever noticed that the brush that they use never has mascara on it, it looks like it just came out of the wash. That’s because the actress modeling the product are wearing false lashes and they don’t want the lashes to fall off or have the lashes to clump up of it won’t look likes it working. Another example is a new blow-dryer attachment I saw recently, the seller was saying how you would get perfect curls in seconds but instead of have the actresses have wet hair to show it worked they had them show the product of with dry hair. I have curly hair and I know that unless my hair is wet it wont curl right when I blow dry it, they were hoping no one would notice it and they do not even show the women putting any product in their hair, and some places are better than most but any bit of humidity for anyone is a bad thing. I’m not saying not to buy the products but I’m saying ask/search around before you buy anything because though some are good some are scams, but the best is being yourself and not falling to the traps of what society thinks you should buy.

About the Author ()

I'm a 8th grader at Bradley M.S., I'm a Churchill charger all the way! I have two younger sisters, one is my stepsister who's two months younger then me, but she's FOUR inches taller than me. My other sister is two years old and is already a ginormous drama queen. I have two dogs and three cats, all adorable and super annoying. My favorite colors are light purple/artic blue/sea foam green. I love all types of books/movies/songs and I'm told i have one very out-going personality. I also love drawing! I have always loved writing as long as I had it my way. Though most of my teachers, didn't like the way I wrote. They thought I needed more in-depth writing skills that's what drove me towards journalism class. It was a fun and new way to learn what I didn't know.
