What if you got in some trouble, big, big, trouble? The book starts out with Ponyboy, a greaser(The kids who live in the bad part of town), is coming back home and suddenly gets beaten up by some Socs(the rich kids in town) and later gets rescued by his friends.

He later goes to a drive-in movie theater with his buddies Dallas and Johnny. After the movie however, Johnny gets in a situation he can’t get out of. Johnny has murdered a soc and is now on the run,but that’s not it. He’s on the run with Ponyboy, who wants to get away from his terrible life at home.

They then end up hiding out in an old, abandoned church where Ponyboy bleaches his hair blonde to change his look. after staying there for a good amount of time, Johnny decides to turn himself in.  A few minutes later, Ponyboy and johnny figure out that the church has caught on fire due to their cigarettes! they rushed to the church to find that inside the church were little kids on their field trip. They immediately rushed into action and saved all of the kids. However,  Johnny got very injured and has to stay in the hospital for a certain amount of time. Do they both survive or do they pass peacefully? Read the book to find Out!

“This book was incredibly moving,” Nathan states. “ I’m not a big fan of books, but I love this one!” The Outsiders is a very moving piece and an even greater story.

“I sobbed at the end of this book!” Olivia says very openly. “It was very moving and i just wish it didn’t end.”

Overall, The Outsiders is a must read book. Considering it was published in 1967 and was started when the author was only 15 years old, this book is really compelling story.
