Remember the times when we were children, born in the same era of the creation of the honey flavored sugary cereal we all know in love which that is, Honey Nut Cheerios? Also, the wonderful bee mascot, Buzz? Well back in our day his catchphrase was, “Be happy, be healthy!” Well, that all changed when General Mills hired rapper Nelly for their new campaign, “Must be the Honey!” So, let me word out the how it all started, the first scene is Nelly reaching in the fridge for milk, then our favorite bee, Buzz, zooms in scaring, Nelly and also asking if he’s ever heard of Honey Nut Cheerios. Then Nelly replies that he has, and that he loves them, so he asks Buzz what he was holding, and the little bee replies that it was his honey wand. So then Nelly snatches it away from him, and soon changed his style to something so-called swagulouse. Then it ends with him changing his voice and telling him, “Bee got swag!” Unfortunately, it ends with those ridiculous blinged out boxes and our favorite childhood mascot being turned swag and him saying,” Sweet!” So kiss all your childhood memories goodbye for something completely new.

I’m not going to lie, I do like Nelly, but I think that General Mills is just trying way too hard and really sucking the life out of the people who just really want the old Buzz back. But, to tell you guys something, it’s just a rip-off of Nelly’s hit ‘Ride Wit Me’. Changing  ‘must be the money’ to ‘must be the honey.’  I’m not going to put the people who like the new commercial down, and if you do i’ll respect your opinions. But, all i’m saying is that I just want the old one back.
