Zachary Talks About Boy Scouts
Zachary Fuhrmann is a part of the Boy Scouts, a well known organization that helps to form good qualities in youths. He is an active participant and has achieved the Star Rank, which is two ranks below the prized Eagle Rank.
He was first encouraged to join by his mother, and is following in the footsteps of his older brother and grandfather who did Boy Scouts before him. It turned out to be a good decision, and he’s learned a considerable amount, as well as becoming a leader in the troop. “I am taking on more responsibilities in the troop,” he says, and this makes sense given his rank. Boy Scouts is all about learning new skills, and he has learned a lot, both about leadership and outdoor skills, as expressed by his comment, “You get to lead, you get to camp, and learn outdoor skills, which is good.” As well as that, there are the community service projects and volunteering that is done in Boy Scouts, and Zach does it all.
Of course, when you think of Boy Scouts, you think of outdoors and camping, and quite a lot of his time is spent doing that. He goes camping every month, and has been to many exciting places, one of which being the Hale Scout Reservation in Oklahoma. He describes it as “A great place to go, with many outdoor activities, such as knot tying and camping.” Being in the Boy Scouts allows him to be out in nature, which is something he really enjoys.
“All in all, it is a really fun organization,” he concludes. He eventually has aspirations to become an Eagle Scout, explaining, “I will have persevered and achieved my goal.”
