All shows will perform in the Black Box Theatre and will cost $5. Snacks will be sold by the booster club at the shows.

These shows are one of the first opportunities that seniors get to be the ones in charge.

“It is important, in my opinion, to have the culmination of all the knowledge they’ve accumulated over four years to be able to turn that knowledge around and find a new challenge,” Theater Director Wayde Young said.

Every year, four seniors are allowed to direct a play themselves. This year, only three seniors, Baldassari, Gonzalez, and Young, got the opportunity to pick their own shows, direct them themselves with little help from their teachers, and work with their own casts.

[I’m looking forward to] working with my actors,” Young said. “I expect them to work hard and have fun.”

Senior directs are a lot of responsibility, not only for the cast but for the directors themselves.

“My show has a lot of technical aspects in it that I am still trying to figure out, so I am a little nervous about trying to see what will work in the space we have,” Baldassari said. By Heather Cullen
