The varsity baseball team goes up against their second round of playoff’s rival on their home field
In the wake of their win against Vandergrift in the first round of playoffs last week, they will go up against Clemens High School tonight in the second round of playoffs.
The boys know exactly where they need to improve in order to take home a win tonight.
“The hardest part was trying to score runs,” senior Matthew Moran said. “We had plenty of runners in scoring positions but just couldn’t get that one hit to score them until the final inning.”
The game will start at 7 p.m. tonight. Ticket prices are $5 for non-teacher adults and $3 for students.
“We need to pack the stadium and cheer our team on to victory,” Principal Justin Oxley said in an email. “Come be apart of this playoff run with our Charger baseball team.”
Although our boys took home the win, they still have some things to work out if they want to keep this winning streak going.
“I think we need to improve our hitting,” moran said. “We also have to keep up our temp throughout the game.”
If vastity takes home another win tonight, they will advance to the third round of playoffs tomorrow, Friday, May 12 at Blossom Athletic Center.
“We want to win the game the right way, too,” Head Baseball Coach Larry Hill said. “Making sure that we are focused and driven. They can take what they learn in baseball and apply it to being better people, too.” By Hannah Clark
