My name is Sarah Morgan, and I'm in the 8th grade. I write stories and play the cello in Honors orchestra. I plan on going to NESA for Instrumental Music and Creative Writng, and work in the Driscoll Announcements. I love Whataburger and the color black. Also I like death and bunnies.X!

     Ms. Vargas has been Driscoll’s talented orchestra teacher for 3 years, and her students enjoy her and the strings. Interviewing her was very fun:

 

 

Q: Do you have any siblings?

A: No.

Q: When you are not at school, what do you like to do?

A: Shoe shopping!

Q: What is your favorite sport?

A: I like running.

Q: Did you ever want to do something other than being an orchestra teacher?

A: Yes, I wanted be a veterinarian. It seemed like fun.

Q: Where did you attend college?

A: I went to UTSA.

Q: What do you like most about being an orchestra teacher?

A: I like being able to share the gift of music with students!

Q: What do you think you would be doing in ten years?

A: I would probably still be teaching.

Q: What do you do in the summer months?

A: I do private teaching instruction, go to the dog park with my dogs, and sleep. A lot.

Q: If I picked up your iPod, what would I find there?

A: (Doesn’t have an iPod) I listen to a lot of 80’s music and 105.3.

Q: What is your favorite movie and why?

A: I love The Phantom of the Opera because of the music!

Q: Do you have any siblings?

A: Yes. One older brother.

A: I like to run and exercise, spend time with family, and I love to read. 🙂

A: Basketball- it’s very energetic and San Antonio has the Spurs!

Q:Did you ever want to do something other than being a reading teacher?

A: Yes, I wanted to be a fashion designer. 🙂

A: UTSA.

Q: What do you like most about being a reading teacher?

A: The students- I love watching them learn and interacting with them. Also I like listening to their clever comments.

Q:What do you think you’ll be doing in ten years?

A: Traveling the world, teaching English in Korea, and, maybe be on a Spongebob episode!

Q:What do you do in the summer months?

A: I go visit with family in South Dakota.

Q: If I picked up your iPod, what would I find there?

A: I have a wide variety. Some Metallica, Mike Buble, Hillsong United, Beethoven, and R&B like Micheal Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Q: What is your favorite movie and why?

A: Bourne Identity. I love all the action! 🙂

Driscoll has completed Red Ribbon week successfully, and many students many posters promoting how to be drug free.

The 6th grade winners are:

1st Place- Maria Quinquileria, 2nd Place- Alexis Moncrief, and 3rd Place- Tristan  Huizar

The 7th grade winners are:

1st Place- Irene Hankins, 2nd Place- Lisa Bauerfeind-Frommeyer, and 3rd Place- Jacom Levine.

And finally, the 8th grade winners are:

1st Place- Angelica Dario, 2nd Place- Lauren Kay, and 3rd Place- Jacob McMeans.
