Oh no it’s; SPRING FEVER

Now that spring is here, it’s time for yet another year of Spring Fever. In case you don’t know what spring fever is, it’s basically a month of more sunshine, a lot more people playing outside, and getting more hyped up.
Most people just want to stay inside because they don’t like going outside and just want to play on their games, while most people can’t wait to hit the road and play basketball or something. When asked, have you ever had spring fever Amiyah Ward (6) had exclaimed, “I have been affected because it gets me so excited because I’m in 6th grade.”

Not all people get affected like John Lopez (6) had said, “I haven’t been affected because I really don’t like to go outside.” Well, that’s alright because not all people like to go outside.
Conner Wiley (6) had said, “I’m sort of affected because I like the sunshine and I also like to play basketball outside.”

A lot of people just can’t wait until summer is here like, Noah Paveglio (6) and Tatum Owams (6), they both exclaimed, “I do get excited because it’s only a couple more days until school is out and summer is right around the corner.
It’s ok if you don’t like to go outside and you would rather play your games or something, but one thing for sure spring fever will come every year and only affect some people.

Get ready to see lines overflowing, people buying season passes, and lots of screaming and laughter! Because if you haven’t heard yet but Six Flags Fiesta Texas is coming out with an epic rollercoaster called the Iron Rattler. Are you ready to have some fun this summer? Well, your summer is going to be filled with an overwhelming amount of thrilling fun.

The Iron Rattler consists of:

“A staggering drop of 171 feet with an amazing drop angle of 81 degrees.”

“A blazing top speed of 70 mph.”

A few people were interviewed on what they thought about the new upcoming rollercoaster. Will this rollercoaster be a hit or a dull ride no one wants to ride on?

“I’m counting down the days until the Iron Rattler opens because I know this rollercoaster is going to be AWESOME!” exclaims Jenna Vega (7). She also says, “I’m looking forward to this ride because me and some of my friends are going to ride it this summer.” Also Kayla Oviedo (7) explains that ,“I have a feeling that this is going to be an awesome rollercoaster even though I hardly ride rollercoasters.”

I have a feeling that there will be a lot of screaming and shouting and don’t be surprised if they play the song “Scream and Shout” by Will.I.Am ft. Britney Spears! Hope you have fun!

Spring: Days grow longer; Sun shines brighter; Pollen gets heavier.

But mostly, spring allergies fill the air. During San Antonio’s seasonal change of spring, there is lots of pollen and allergens in our air. Bethany Lockett (8) says, “I am taking every allergy medicine possible so I don’t have to miss school. If I wasn’t on ultra allergy meds, I would be very sick.” Let’s take a closer look as to what’s in the air.

First and foremost, there is a lot of oak pollen floating around. You may recognize it as those little green puffs that get into everything. It can cause sneezing, coughing, and sinus pressure. This is an annual pollination that happens every year so more oak trees can grow.

Trees may look beautiful, but give off pollens that cause many peoples’ allergies.

Also, many trees and flowers are blooming, so their pollens are filling the air. “My allergies suck,” claims Skyler Edmisten (8). This spring, Doctors would suggest going to an allergist, a doctor who specifies on allergies, if you have symptoms like sinus pressure and headaches, running or stuffed nose, or coughing. The best you can do for your body is eat right, exercise, and get lots of sleep to prevent illness.

Hopefully, these allergens won’t get to you. Take care of your body and await the fresh air of summer.
