Avery Dullnig (7) who’s in Go team said “I was scared I wasn’t going to make the ball over the net, and that I was going to let my team down.”

Katya Rodriguez (7) said “It felt really awesome to win a game.

The Jaguars were very tough to beat I’ve heard. Thank goodness our ladies could take it.

The next volleyball game will be held here at Garner Middle School.  We will be going against Driscoll Middle school. Go team girls will play at 4:30 p.m., B team girls will play at 5:30 p.m., and A team girls will play at 6:30 p.m.

Good luck ladies! Hope to see everyone there!

Dance Club Meets Again

The dance club finally had a second meeting Monday, October 20, 2014. The dance club meets twice a month on Mondays in the choir room. The reason Garner Middle School has a dance club is because Ms. Flemming wants anyone who is interested to learn how to dance to many types of genres. Some of the genres are: Bollywood, hip hop, jazz, and country. The following people are the official members of dance club: Ashley Alverez (6), Makayla Arredondo (6), Caitlyn Auliveld (6), Tera Contreras (6), Addison Thompson (6), Varielica Rhymes (6), Faith Anderson (7), Janelle Bankston (7), Dejahnea Barret (7), Caeley Brown (7), Corbin Cunningham (7), Jennifer Flores (7), Chanel Hanson (7), Jessica Harden (7), Niavaunii Ledezma (7), and Alyce Thinner (7).

On Monday the dance club did four dances, all the same genre, the genre was a hip hop workout mix. Something that stands out is that the majority of the students are extremely flexible. Garner’s Dance Club is a great way to learn different types of dances; while having fun for your friends. Dance club may be small, but the members have fun and that is what matters.

Mac Arthur vs Lee Highschool football game

On Friday, October 17th it was the Mac Arthur vs Lee High school football game. Like most of Mac Arthurs football games it was in Hero’s Stadium. Mac Arthur was the home team unlike last year against Lee they were the away team. Within the first couple of minutes of the game starting the Brahmas scored a touchdown from a deep pass into the in zone.

A tuba player from Mac Arthurs band said, “This year our football team is way better, last year not so much.”

When the first half ended the Brahmas was leading the score board. Then Mac Arthurs band went on the field to perform for halftime. The performance was excellent, but when they were transitioning the power went out. The lights that shine towards the football field turned off along with other lights. It was like the 2013 Super Bowl where the power also turned off. After halftime and the delay of the power outage the Mac Arthur Brahmas ended up demolishing Lee high school to a score of 46-28.
