My Name Is George G

My name is George G,

Down in west San Antonio born and raised,

in middle school is where I spent most of my days.

Learning out max and relaxing all cool, and we shoot out some b-ball right after school.

I have many friends and my grades are pretty good, I also jog around in my neighborhood.

I’m in this place all day and all night,

while I think to myself this is pretty alright.

Garner Football

The 8th Grade Garner Yearlings have recently had their first football game in the rain against Wood Middle school this past Tuesday. The rain, like the Yearlings, came down on the opposing team without warning. The A team came down with a win of over 16 points, but the B team wasn’t as successful. While without a win, their strong defensive line stopped Wood from scoring in a 0-0 tie. The weather was an issue, but not for Garner. Although the ball was slippery, the A team did not make one fumble and powered through the rain for the win.

STAAR

The brilliant students at Garner Middle School have just recently taken the end of year State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness, or STAAR test. The teachers have no doubt that their students will pass with flying colors due to the suitable preparation that they gave them. We interviewed some of Garner’s wonderful test takers and here are their thoughts on the test, “That test was easy, even for me.” states Jaime E. “It’s such a relief to not worry about that test any more, I beat the STAAR!”says Gabby V. Many of Garner’s fine students have no doubt that they did well on their test, eagerly await the results, and are excited to go to high school with confidence.
