Mrs. White

Mrs. Amanda White is the yearbook and newspaper adviser at Garner Middle School in San Antonio, TX.  She has been the yearbook adviser for 5 years and the newspaper adviser for 3 years.  She holds a degree in Communication from Trinity University, a masters in Education Leadership from Lamar University and has been teaching high school

 and middle school for 11 years. Mrs. White’s husband is a graphic designer and her son is three years old.  She is very excited about this year and the newspaper staff.

Garner Student Plays Kind

A student from Garner is in a Playhouse production of ‘Annie’ and was recently featured in a San Antonio Express News article highlighting the fact that the girls in the play are giving back to the community.  The girls, age 7-16, including Garner’s own Ava Schweninger, are fundraising through the play and selling “Sandy Dogs,” like the one in the play, to benefit the local Children’s Shelter.  To see the show call 210-733-7258 or visit the website www.theplayhousesa.org.
