San Antonio Rodeo

When you think about the rodeo , you usually visualize hundreds of cowboys dancing to country music , but that’s not all that goes down. We have concerts where celebrities come and perform, lots of food , and games.

At the rodeo, our very own Mackinzee Swetman, 7th grade student at Harris Middle School,  was invited to go into the arena to start the calf scramble.

“It was so much fun! It gave my body a rush being in front of thousands of people,” said Mackinzee.

Mackinzee was invited to eat dinner at the Frontier  Club, which was right on the rodeo grounds. The food was delicious and she highly recommends eating at this venue. She also won a rodeo shirt and pen with a cow printed on it.

“I would love to go back. I had such a great time while I was there. I loved the feeling of being a celebrity of the night,” stated Mackinzee.
