Seattle Gum Wall

| March 18, 2015 | 0 Comments

In Seattle, Washington, on Post Alley under Pike Place Market is the famous Gum Wall. The tradition began in 1993 when patrons of “Unexpected Productions” Seattle Theatresports began to stick gum on the wall along with two coins. Theater workers tried to scrape off all of the gum but stopped after the wall became a tourist attraction in 1999. There has been an estimate of about 250,000 pieces of gum on the wall, but the numbers are continuing to grow. If you visit Seattle, be sure to visit the Gum Wall!
