Hunky Mr. Hurley!

| January 10, 2012 | 2 Comments

I interviewed Mr. Hurley, the principal of Jackson Middle School.  I got to know a lot of new thing’s about Mr. Hurley, including were he went to college, one of his embarrassing moments, one tough decision he had to make, how he became a principal, why he chose to be a principal, and as a principal what would he like to improve on.  Mr. Hurley went to University of Baltimore and then transferred to the University of San Antonio.  He was a classroom teacher, then he went back to collage to get his Masters degree.  After that he applied to be an assistant principal at Driscoll Middle for four years.  Later on he asked for his principal ship, and applied here at Jackson.  One of the toughest decisions he faced, was his first year at Jackson and one of the teachers had passed away.  He really tried to help the administration/ staff and students to cope with the lost. Although there were sad moments here at Jackson, there were some funny moments too.  “I was talking to the kids about being careful where they step in the hallways, and as I took a step I tripped over a cord. That was really embarrassing.  As the years go by at Jackson Middle School, one of the things I would like to improve on is being more visible to the students at Jackson middle school, and to get to know more students.”
