Twitch Plays Pokémon is a “social experiment” conducted by the website Twitch, launched on February 12, 2014. Users can put their commands for the game into a chat box, making the player-character in Pokémon Red move.

However, after TPP gained popularity, the chat box exploded with hundreds of random commands being typed every second by users.  Twitch estimated there were 1.6 million people participating, and it became nearly impossible to complete anything in the game due to the random commands coming constantly.

After 16 full days of gameplay, on March 1, 2014, Pokémon Red was completed.

Twitch has launched the next Pokémon game, Pokémon Crystal, to be playable by those who still want to continue the Twitch experience.

Uh, I’m sorry, but I didn’t really understand this article. Margret normally has a wonderful writing technique. But this article is very confusing to the unsuspecting reader. Please explain what ‘Twitch’ is!
