Softball hits off the season

Softball is in the midst of intense training for a lengthy season.

Johnson softball has so far played a great 2011 season. The team has competed in several tournaments and has done well.

“We are done with the first round and we still have the second round,” softball coach Jennifer Fox said. “But we’re 6 and 0 in district, and we’re 16 and 5 in non-district.”

The team has suffered some losses against stiff competition.

“Out of the 5 losses that we’ve had, 3 were from the tournament in College Station where we have really good competition,” Fox said. “And the other 2 were against O’Connor.”

The team has continued to practice and looks toward an even better round in the future.

“We have been playing very well the last month and a half and hope to do better,” she said.
