What’s in a name? Nonsense, if you follow celebrity trends.

When you choose a name for your child in the future, you want to think of the reaction a classroom will have when the teacher calls role. For example:

Teacher: “Diva Thin Muffin Migeen?”

Diva: “Here!”

I am pretty sure there would be a collective silence throughout the classroom. When choosing a name for your child, the parent must remember that the child will carry this name throughout his or her adulthood.

For instance, the name Daisy Boo would be fitting for a newborn baby. But as the child grows older, I’m sure Daisy Boo’s coworkers will feel a little uncomfortable calling her what most of us consider a name suitable for a pet.

Some parents go a little overboard while choosing a life-long label for their child, especially one woman in particular. A couple from New Zealand named their baby girl “Tulula Does The Hula From Hawaii.” Now I know what you’re thinking and, and yes,  she did legally change her name to “Dot” at the age of nine.

Many fame-hungry people or celebrities will do anything just to see their name in the headlines.

Penn and Emily Jillette gave their daughter the bold name “Moxie Crimefighter” and their son the name “Zolten Penn.” I feel as if you are just asking for your kid to receive verbal abuse if you name them Moxie Crimefighter.

A legandary tennis player, Arthur Ashe took a leap of faith when he named his son after a tangible object, “Camera.” It is almost like the baby was born and the first thing that popped in his mind was “camera!” Good luck in this big, big world Camera.

Bob Geldof, a musician and TV host had three girls and named them Fifi Trixibelle, Peaches Honeyblossom, and Little Pixie. Now I don’t know what was running through Mr. Geldof’s mind when he composed these names, but he surely wasn’t thinking rationally.

Michael Hutchence was a famous Australian musician and actor who bestowed the name “Heavenly Hiraani Tiger Lily” upon his daughter.

Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Chris Martin, named their daughter and son “Apple” and “Moses” after biblical references which I completely respect. But from my perspective, I would feel awkward eating an apple from then on out.

Although a name is something you carry through out your whole life and is meant to be unique and fitting, some of these names cross the line a little bit. In the future when you decide to have kids, make sure to keep in mind the child’s future and fate before you choose a label that will reman there forever.
