Soccer preparing to kick off

With winter right around the corner, the Jaguar soccer team is preparing to kick off the season.

“I’m excited for this season. The beginning of soccer season is always an exciting time of the year for all the coaches and players,” boys coach Mike South said.

The varsity girls’ team season starts January 10 with a scrimmage against the New Braunfels.  The first game will be on January 13 against Marshall.

“I’m very excited for this season, I think we have great team chemistry and we can be really good if we can all play together and stay focused,” junior Alexa Ledesma said.

The boys’ season starts off with two scrimmages against East Central and Smithson Valley, and their first games are both onJanuary 13 against East Central and Marshall.

“I think we have a lot of potential, I’ve been preparing with a lot of my teammates this off season so we play well together” sophomore Nacer Ibaroudene said.

The coaches like the players have been preparing for this season as well.

“We as coaches just have to keep the players focused and make sure the coaches stay focused as well, and we have potential to have a very good season,” South said.
