Boys Basketball

Over the break the varsity boys had three games, including two district games. They faced O’Connor, Churchill and Roosevelt which each of the three games they fell short and still have an under .500 record. The Jags are still trying to find their groove this year and are still awaiting a district win. Roosevelt was their best chance so far but they were unable to capitalize in overtime losing 74-73. They came out sluggish against Churchill and were never able to get their shots to fall taking a loss 84-43. The season is almost over and a playoff run would have to be made by an outstanding finish.

Girls Basketball

As for the girls they have also played three games since the break and have come out on the winning end, taking their district record to 5-0. They have proved to be a contender in the cities best showing they can beat other top teams in wagner. They still have six games to punch their ticket into the playoffs. They have a big upcoming test this Friday, Jan. 11 when they play Reagan the number one team in the city.

Wrestling

The Jags are having another great season staying undefeated in duels as well as staying in the top three in tournaments. They still have a good amount left of their season and they want to have another state representing season and continue their unrelenting dominance. This weekend the Jags are heading into the centex tournament, wanting to place within the top three teams.

Swimming

This year both swim teams have had a convincing season hoping to repeat their state success from last year. Nathan Coppock is a returning swimmer and he was one of the Jags who represented us in state last year.

Soccer

A report on boys and girls soccer is a little premature right now but we just wanted to let you know their seasons are almost underway. Both teams had their first scrimmage this year and the girls were able to pull out a 2-0 win.
