Johnson keeper Rudy Apodaca sets up for the goal kick

The Johnson boys soccer season has recently come to an end in a way that they would’ve wanted to be different.

The Jags were matched up against Judson who have been a very high powered offense all year. Judson had an early strike to put the Jags down 1-0 going into the break.

Halftime adjustments were clearly made and only five minutes into the second half the Jags found their equalizer knotting it up at one.

A while went on before there was another goal and then Judson scored again to make it a 2-1 contest. Judson then scored one last time to propel themselves to the second round of playoffs winning 3-1.

Coming into this game against Judson Johnson was the clear underdog, but they knew it wasn’t impossible to come out with the win. They fought hard all game long but were just unable to ever get things going putting themselves in a hole all game long. The Jags will be done for the year but have gained great confidence heading into next season.

For the Jags this season was definitely a success and they proved themselves to be at the top of the district along with a few other teams.

They reached their goal of making it to the playoffs and will go right into their offseason workouts to prepare for next seasons obstacles. The season ended a little differently than they had expected but they gained motivation looking into next year’s season. Coming into next year the Jags will be without many key seniors and will have to fill in those spots with second year players.
