Tennis hits up regionals

 Johnson tennis has yet again proved themselves to be at the top of the district and are sending four athletes to regionals. These four athletes are freshmen Chuyang Guan and Christopher Munez, sophomore Paula Gutierrez-Rodriguez, and senior Florencia Bigatti. Biggati and Gutierrez-Rodriguez will be playing in the regional doubles and will look to get to state. Regionals begin on Saturday, April the 13th, and the Jags tennis players will represent Johnson in the best way they can.

“We have worked hard all season and training has stayed pretty consistent. Now that these four athletes are competing in regionals we focus on improving their skills in that particular event. Preparing them for this has actually started since the beginning of august and now everything they have excelled in will show in regionals,” coach Sean Reno said.

Tennis has made it to regionals hoping for a win.

“I train extremely hard not only in school but outside of school during the weekends and weekdays whenever I don’t have a tournament, my dad has really been helping me prepare for this season and this match and for this particular match I have been playing more practice matches to get ready,” Guan said.
