Watches are used for multiple things. They help you keep time and can be used to set a fashion statement. However, many kids don’t have watches because their phones tell time and watches can be very expensive. You don’t need to burn a hole in your wallet to make a statement; you just need to know where to look.
A lot of people like athletic watches for their durability and comfort while working out. There are a lot of brands that make affordable, athletic watches. Timex is a great brand that makes cheap, reliable watches.
“I like G-Shocks. They are really durable and have a ton of features,” senior Austin Cueva said. “It’s overall a great watch. You can find them at a lot of department stores, and start at a reasonable price of $99.”
If you are looking for a great everyday watch that’s comfortable and stylish, Swatch is the brand for you. Although they aren’t in many stores, you can find them online or if you happen to be in Switzerland, you are sure to find one.
“… they are different and crazy, they have so many colors and designs and they are from Switzerland so that makes them even cooler.” senior Morgan Gardner said.
There are a variety of brands that can be used as fashion statement. Most of these brands, however, are very expensive and most students don’t have the money to by a high end watch. But there are some brands that make high quality watches at a low price.
“I’d recommend MVMT watches. They have unique, simple designs at affordable price all under $100,” Cueva said. “Movado is also another brand that I’d recommend.”
With all of these affordable watches, the population of watch wearers has slowly increased, but why are people hesitant of wearing a watch?
“I think a lot of people quit wearing watches because they use their phone to keep time now,” Cueva said. “But I like wearing them because I still check my wrist for the time, and especially during a tennis match they become useful, I’m also into watch trends.”
