The original King Kong vs. Godzilla was in 1963 and was directed by Ishirō Honda, who, along with Tomoyuki Tanaka, created the first Godzilla movie in 1954. The film was released on June 3, 1963, where we see the two titans clash for the first time in film history. However, director Adam Wingard, brings these two kings back together in a modern battle to the death.

We saw Godzilla’s return to modern cinema in 2014’s Godzilla placing the titan in the modern world facing off two kaiju, bringing an action packed film filled with explosions, titans fighting titans, and cities being leveled in the wake of their fight. We were re-introduced to Kong in 2017’s Kong Skull Island, which later teased a future clash between Kong and Godzilla. Following this movie came the release of Godzilla: King of Monsters, which brings classic characters such as King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra. Each of these movies gave an action-packed experience for viewers, and they all lead up to this year’s Godzilla vs. Kong.

Each of the movies prior to Godzilla vs. Kong gave viewers not only an action packed experience but an amazing visual environment which gave viewers a glimpse of reality within the world of Godzilla. Godzilla vs. Kong gives an all new experience of visual effects with its outstanding environments, fight scenes, and more.

Within each scene, it gave such realistic environments that would leave viewers with their mouths wide open. The movie itself starts off with a bang, literally in all ways. The visual effects team gave extraordinary details from the incredible detail of each scene, from the details of the main characters Kong and Godzilla. For viewers who aren’t in favor of the action related film, the futuristic technology that is seen within the film is breathtaking. Godzilla movies since they were first released into the big screen are known for its big action scenes between the iconic lizard-like monster and any foe he must face.

Movie theaters across the country have remained closed in response to COVID, however across the country they are slowly beginning to open their doors. Godzilla vs. Kong is one of many big movies that is being released into theaters, and even has become the highest earning movie of 2021. Although the film can be seen on HBO Max, it’s truly meant to be seen on the big screen in order to be able to fully experience the movie itself.
