Johnson High School celebrates National Poetry Month

National Poetry Month was introduced in 1996 by the Academy of American Poets. Our school celebrates National Poetry Month by doing blackout poetry, this will take place the entire month of april. Blackout poetry is where you take a page from a book and cross out words with a black marker to make a poem, and celebrates it in other ways as well. Teachers all year around also contribute to this by making students write poetry or do poetry related activities.
