Pawn Sacrifice is based on the true story of Bobby Fischer, a World Chess Champion during the 1970s. Fischer’s life is an interesting one, and the film definitely does a great job of translating it on screen for the most part.
Black Mass tells the story of crime boss James “Whitey” Bulger and the true events surrounding the Winter Hill Gang in Boston during the 1970s and 80s. This film is driven by an excellent cast, but the story on the other hand wasn’t too great.
Whether they deal with robots, aliens, or advanced technology, all science fiction films need to have one thing in common; they need to intrigue us and make us invested in what’s happening on screen. For this list, I choose my five personal favorite movies from the sci-fi genre.
