Football Ends Season

The end of the football season had finally come for the Vols as the Vols had pushed each other through each practice during the changing weather.  All of the Vols teams played their last game of the season last week and faced the Johnson Jaguars.

Ending with an overall record of 1 wins to 9 loses, along with 0 wins and 6 loses in district for the Freshman (B) White-team.  As for the Freshman (A) Red-team, the Vols have 0 wins with 6 loses in district, and the Vols have 0 win with 10 loses at this time for their overall record, and the boys encouraged each other to do better.

Outstanding players on the team were Zach Alcala who connected to Jose Ramirez for a 60 yard TD pass.  Edwin Pedraza, Ernesto Rodriguez, Aaron Obregon, Jose Ramirez, Richard Sosa, Hilario Cabrera, and Zach Alcala were also some of the outstanding players on the team.   “Sam Adams also did an excellent job on defense coming up with several tackles,” Coach Woods.

The junior varsity team ended their season with an overall record of 1 win and 9 loses, along with 0 wins and 6 loses in district.

The varsity Vols team finished their season with 2 wins to 8 loses in district.  Outstanding players on the team receiving Honorable Mention were defensive line captain junior Jeremy Chavez, offensive line captain senior Steven Mendez, senior receiver captain Josh Sotelo, senior kicker Ben Gutierrez, junior quarter back Gabe Rangel, and junior defensive back and receiver Matt McCracken.
