Thursday, Nov 11 at 11 a.m., the same day and time as the original Armistice went into effect on the 11th day of the 11th month, 1918, the JROTC has scheduled their annual Veterans Day Ceremony.
The event is open to everyone and will take place in the Red Courtyard.
Colonel William Hendon announced the schedule for the event:
-Welcome by Battalion Commander Rosa Mora
-Introduction of Master of Ceremony-Battalion Executive Officer Mark Braddick
-Adjutant Juan Urquidi brings the Corp of Cadets to attention & turns the Corp over to the Battalion Commander
-Mark Braddock introduces “Honored Guess” and Guest Speaker, Major Mark G. Adkins, Executive Officer, St. Mary’s SROTC.
-Major Adkins speaks
-Braddock directs attention to the Color Guards/Flag Details and they come forward
-Flags are unfolded and attached to lanyards, and hoisted to full staff.
– -Reveille is played while flags are attached to lanyards and hoisted to full staff
– -Taps is played while Flags are lowered to half-staff
-Flag Detail departs
-Braddock reads “What is a Veteran” and concludes the ceremony
-Stars and Stripes forever is played
