The HOSA sponsored Blood Drive will be held November 19th from 8:00am to 4:00pm in the Old Library. HOSA would love to have a record breaking year and win the contest for most donations in one day. Teachers and staff will be put to the front of the line so they can get back to work.
Carla House, HOSA sponsor estimated that it will take approximately one hour for the entire process for each donor. Anyone with questions can call or email House, 442-0300 ext. 284 or firstname.lastname@example.org
House engourages all students who meet the following requirements to donate:
-Must be at least 17 years old. No16 Year olds, please
-Must weigh at least 110 pounds
-Must not have been exposed to Hepatitis, AIDS, or Malaria in the past year
-Cannot be pregnant
-MUST have a picture ID
-Must have a blood drive pass from the current period teacher with name, date, time
Any student that meets the criteria will go through a screening process to find out if they are eligible or not. Then they will move out to the buses, where the actual donation will take place. Once this is done, the student will return to our classroom to get something to eat and drink before returning to class.
