Former ISA students Cory Van Bibber, Donald Wilcox, and Jared Deer (accompanied by A&M San Antonio student, Suresh Sah) competed in Microsoft’s programing contest, The Imagine Cup. The team created a mobile phone app, a game that focuses on “environmental sustainability.”
“The idea behind it is that your character is approached by some villagers stating the river has stopped flowing and the scientists have gone missing. You have to set out off on a quest to figure out why,” team member Cory Van Bibber said.
Although the team had never created a mobile app they made it to the finals. First place wins an $8,000 prize, second place wins $4,000, and third place wins $3,000.
