All North East ISD campuses and offices will be closed Fri, Feb. 4 due to inclement weather.
San Antonio’s chilly weather this past week has finally caused NEISD to close campuses like many other school districts in the area. The source, a cold jet stream passing through Texas and much of the eastern United States. The city of San Antonio, not accustomed to such low temperatures is experiencing slippery highways and rolling blackouts from frost.
On Wed. Feb. 2, Lee High School lost power at the beginning of 2nd period, leading to an extended advisory period schedule for the duration of the day. Electricity returned approximately 45 minutes later.
The possibility of snow depends on different pockets of the city and its vicinity. Students are expected to make up this “snow day” on February 21th, previously a student holiday.
