‘Mad Ones’ Gives Other Magazines the Book

The NESA Creative Writers’ literary magazine, The Mad Ones, won the highest literary award from the National Teacher’s Council of English, the PRESLM award.

This is equivalent to the national merit status of literary magazines and is a difficult award to win. The magazine must be flawless in design and editing, the students must be leaders in the entire process, and the contents should show consistent  strength, versatility, and creative in the submissions of both writing and artwork.

“I am so very proud of our students and the senior editors from last year. The long hours of editing and designing paid off,” said Amy Stengel.

Only three schools in Texas received this award and 96 across the nation.

If you would like to buy a magazine, we are offering teachers a discount price on $5.00 per magazine. This will go directly to the publishing cost of this year’s magazine.
