Former Lee Teacher Gone, But Not Forgotten

William Leland Clary Jr., or better known to Lee High School as Mr. Clary, passed away at 81 due to complications of illness on February 16.

Mr. Clary taught Social Studies  for 24 years, working at Lee from 1965-89. He leaves behind a loving wife, Rosa Medlin Clary, a son, and seven grandchildren.

Even though I never had Mr. Clary as my teacher, I knew him as both a kind neighbor and a frequent wearer of hats. He enjoyed taking photographs of nature, keeping his lawn well-kept, and the occasional Waterburger. He also loved his cat, Toeey, who passed away months earlier.

The official obituary in the San Antonio Express-News can be found here.

Donations on behalf of Mr. Clary to the American Diabetes Association or to the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church on 825 E. Basse Road.
