The Lee Volunteers go into their 2013 bye week needing some help.
Since starting 2-0, the Vols have lost 3 out of the last 4, including stunning road losses to Southwest and Roosevelt and a 51 point home loss to Reagan.
Except for a 42-16 win over Jefferson, the Vols have been averaging 9.3 points per game, and have been giving up 37.5 points per game, 51.5 over just the last two.
They will take on the 5-1 Madison Mavericks on October 18th, in which Lee will need to bring its offense and defense. The Mavs are averaging 35.3 points per game; which does not spell good things for the struggling Volunteer defense.
The Vols having a bye week this week is also a concern. Since Danny Klosa took the job in 2010, the Vols are 0-3 after a bye week, including a 56-7 loss last year to the same Madison team that they play next week.
To beat the Mavs, the Vols offense that dominated the first two games of the year will need to show up.
