Red Ribbon Week Reminds

Red Ribbon week was big on the high school and elementary campuses. Students dressed differently every day to signify their stand to stay away from drugs as well as many groups on campus helping other schools celebrate Red Ribbon Week.Dancers at elementary

To start off Red Ribbon Week, Olmos Elementary School had a pep-rally for the entire school. McGruff, the Crime Dog from the San Antonio Police Department along with Officer Ruiz and Officer Zulaica spoke to Olmos children about the history of Red Ribbon Week. They gave the school numerous tips on Halloween safety.cheer at elementary

The Drum Line under the direction of Brannon Baker performed. Lee Dance Team under the direction of Tina Alaniz, and Lee High School’s Cheer Team under the direction of Ms. Parker danced and cheered. Students wore Red in Honor of the week and pledged to lead a Drug-Free life. ]

High school students dressed as ‘Merica Monday, Twin Tuesday, Wacky Wednesday, Throwback Thursday and Spirit Friday.
