9 to 5 first hit Broadway back in April of 2009, delighting audiences everywhere. Now, musical fans can look forward to seeing 9 to 5 in the Lee auditorium January 22 through the 25.
9 to 5 is based on the movie of the same name starring Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda, and Lily Tomlin, about three working women and the struggles they face on their journeys to success. Pushed to the breaking point by their sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot of a boss, Violet Newstead, Judy Bernly, and Doralee Rhodes concoct a plan of revenge.
“It’s a show about strong women,” said Mr. Tidwell, the director of 9 to 5, citing that as the reason for choosing the show, describing the production as “powerful.”
Tickets to see 9 to 5 can be bought during lunch in the black box and are $5 for students or $10 for adults.
