Photojournalism Students Win Awards, Camera At ATPI Workshop

Talent in photography brought students awards and a Canon EOS Rebel t6i. Six newspaper, photojournalism and yearbook students from ISA and Lee attended the Association of Texas Photography Instructors Winter Conference in Arlington and came away winners. The conference included workshops, classes and contests with the groups winning awards across the board of categories.

Karina Trevino from Lee entered the Picture Package contest and received an Honorable Mention. She shot three photos fitting the given theme,  “Close Up” and one day to shoot.

Lee students Jiaya Wilson, Kate Lussier, Iris Longoria and Valentina Salazar entered the School Portfolio contest and got Honorable Mention. Their assigned theme was “Broken” and the girls had three days to shoot and enter photos.

Lee also took home an EOS Rebel T6i camera donated by Cannon. Schools winning the top awards received a camera. Lee took home four plaques for winning first in Portrait, first in Photojournalism, first in Sports and first overall in the Rising Star Portfolio contest.
