Paella, the dish of Spain was the topic of conversation at the 6th Annual Corona Paella Challenge March 15 hosted by Chef Johnny Hernandez. Guests have enjoyed food, live entertainment, and the chance to watch celebrity chefs and high school teams compete to create the best Paella.
Five of the Culinary Arts students participated in the city wide Paella Challenge and placed third.
The students gave up their last day of spring break, showed up at school at 7 a.m. and worked all day making Paella Valenciana. Team members are Enrico Sepulveda, Alex Garcia, Fernando Vazquez, Eunice Robledo, Jasmine Garica.
“Placing two years in a row is quite an accomplishment especially since we have only participated in the competition for the past two years,” teacher Debbie Rohan said. “Please congratulate the students when you see them.”
