2021 Graduation Moved to Alamodome

The graduating class of 2021 will celebrate their graduation at the Alamodome during Memorial Day weekend. The change of venue comes as a precaution to insure that Covid-19 regulations and safety protocols can be effectively observed despite the large crowd. Each graduate will receive six tickets for guests, meaning that the total audience could exceed 3,000 people. Masks will be required and groups will be directed throughout the venue to ensure social distancing. The ceremony will also be live streamed for those who cannot attend.

Seniors who plan to attend graduation will need to follow a series of guidelines including having natural hair color, no visible tattoos or piercings, no decorating/embellishing of their cap or gown, senior boys must have a tie and collared shirt, students may only wear stoles, pins, or cords approved by NEISD, and attend all rehearsals and Zoom meetings.

This in-person graduation ceremony comes as a huge win for the class of 2021, especially amid the news that other typical senior events, such as senior awards and prom will not take place out of an abundance of caution.
