LEE’s Model United Nations team will hold it’s first meeting on Wednesday, September 1, in Ms. Jacobie’s room, after school at 4:30 p.m.

Model UN is a club which aims to simulate the processes of the United Nations, allowing participants to run through scenarios while emulating the various nations of the world and their representatives to find solutions to real world problems.

The club meets once per month to practice and prepare for conferences that happen throughout the year, including MUNSA, which is held at Trinity University, and is organized and hosted by ISA. Other conferences include, CTMUN at the University of Texas at Austin, and possibly others to be held at Rice University or Baylor University.

“Model UN is a great way to for students all over campus, whether LEE, STEM, or NESA to come together to try and solve the world’s problems,” Ms. Jacobie said.
