Condolences Go Out to Yantis Family and ALE

ALE teacher Carol Gee Yantis passed away on Sunday, Feb 5

Carol Gee Yantis was born April 5, 1956 and went home to be with her Lord on February 5, 2012. Carol was born in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
She married her high school sweetheart, Scott Jay Yantis, on August 31, 1974. She is preceded in death by her son, Travis Jay Yantis on May 6, 2007. Besides her husband, Carol devoted her life to her children, Margaret Gee Yantis and Travis Jay Yantis. The loss of Travis at his young age was a great source of pain for Carol, but she was able to channel her grief into charitable causes and helping those around her.

Carol had a devout maternal instinct, and she loved and cared for all children, lavishing love and attention on her numerous nieces and nephews. Carol’s love of children also extended to her career as an educator, most recently teaching students with special needs at Douglas MacArthur High School. Carol took great pride in advocating on behalf of her students, never hesitating to address whatever issues necessary to ensure their health, happiness and learning. Carol’s infectious laugh and great sense of humor touched everyone with whom she came into contact.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Scott Jay Yantis, and daughter, Margaret Gee Yantis. She is also survived by her father, Larry Gee and his wife Susan; mother, Barbara Carrola; in-laws, Bruce and Martha Yantis; numerous brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
