Frankly Speaking: Holiday Games Blog

Christmas is coming up fast and with it, a whole bunch of new games have been and will be coming out to give us gamers that holiday gaming fix.

So far, there has been some pretty impressive games that have already come out, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue have all launched and hit the shelves. While these annual release games always come out around this time, tempting us gamers to spend all our Christmas money early, some should wait until the full lineup of holiday games to be released and for those wonderful holiday sales to come around.

Some highly anticipated games also won’t come out for a while. Fans of the Far Cry series will very soon get there hands on the brand new Far Cry 4, which takes place in the fictional country hidden within the Himalayas, Kyrat. With beautiful graphics, new gameplay mechanics, and a whole lot more, Far Cry 4 promises to have fans putting it at the tippy top of their wish lists.

And if riding elephants into battle in mountainous country isn’t really your cup of holiday eggnog, then Nintendo will be releasing three games November 21. The first two (and my personal favorites) are Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire. These games will take back to the Hoenn region with all new graphics, brand new mega evolutions, and some updated story. Other fans of the series know that many Pokemon fans have been waiting and asking for this remake of the original Ruby and Sapphire ever since Pokemon was released on the Nintendo DS. The next game is the new Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U. While the 3DS version of the game has been out since October, many have been waiting for the console version to finally come out. While the core game is still the same, new things like eight player Smash Battles have been announced.

There are a lot of other games that will come out before Christmas, and all of them promise to be great. For those who have to choose which games to get, the lineup of games will be hard to choose from this year. For those who will get the majority of these games, I wish you luck in finding time to finish every single one of them. I know that I’m going to have trouble picking which games that I will want.
