Frankly Speaking: Great Games for Christmas

It’s that time again where all video game fans grab their wish lists and hope they get any games they missed throughout the year. For those of you who don’t really know what to ask for, here are some games to put on your Christmas wish list.

Multi-Platform Games:

Fallout 4: Explore the post-nuclear apocalyptic Wasteland as the lone survivor of Vault 111. Battle with mutated enemies, join very different factions, and determine the fate of the Common Wealth in this seemingly endless action RPG.

Assassins Creed: SyndicateExplore 19th century London as not one, but two brand new assassins in the newest installment to the this fan-favorite series. With new mechanics, such as the grappling hook and trains, a brand new story, and another Piece of Eden to fight for, this game is a must for your Christmas wish list.

Mortal Kombat X: As the newest game of one of the most popular fighting game series, Mortal Kombat X brings all new characters, brutal Fatalities, and interactive environments to make this game amazing. If you’ve been looking for a fighting game to play with your friends, this would be the one to get.

Xbox Exclusives:

Halo 5 Guardians: Find the truth of why the Master Chief went rogue seven months after the events of Halo 4. Play as the Spartan Hunters, Team Osiris, and hunt down the Master Chief, or play as the Chief as he searches for more secrets of the Forerunners, all while using brand new weapons and armor abilities.

Rise of the Tomb Raider: The second game in the reboot of the Tomb Raider series, follow the young Laura Croft as she searches for answers to the supernatural and becomes the Laura Croft we all know. Fight new enemies, use different tools to solve puzzles, and become the Tomb Raider.

Gears of War Ultimate Edition: Fans of the Gears of War series will want to get this newly remastered version of the first game in this gore filled series. Play as Marcus Fenix, the muscle bound dew rag wearing hero, as he fights through hoards of Locusts, which are the big ugly and blood thirsty creatures from underground.

PlayStation Exclusives:

Until Dawn: For those of you who love the adrenaline rush a horror game gives, Until Dawn will be one game you don’t want to miss out on. Playing as a group of teens out in the middle of the woods in winter, you will try to live through being attacked by your own group and the cannibalistic demon spirits, the Wendigos, as you try and survive until dawn.

Bloodborne: If you enjoy a good demon hunt and love Dark Souls level of difficulty in games, then Bloodborne is a game that you will want to put on your wish list. Explore a Gothic style world filled with evil just ripe for hunting as you search for the “Paleblood” for one reason or another.

Sword Art Online: Lost Song: Fans of the anime Sword Art Online will want to jot this game down on their lists. Taking place after the events of the Alfheim Online story arc in the anime, players explore the Alfheim-Aincrad mash up world created by Kirito and friends. Play as many of your favorite characters from the anime, or even better, make your own character and fight your way through the Floating Castle.

Splatoon(Wii U): The surprise favorite of many Wii U owners, Splatoon is a third person shooter game where players face off in teams and shoot each other with ink guns. You can even turn into an ink squid and become one with the ink players splatter around the map to move around faster and get the advantage against the other team.

Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask(3DS): Stop the moon from falling in this 3D remake of the popular N64 Legend of Zelda game. As Link, you must stop the moon from falling and destroying everything, all while transforming into the different races of the land with different masks. Solve puzzles, defeat evil, and listen to annoying fairies in this fantastic remake.

Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon(3DS): Fans of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series will want to check this game out and hope they get it for the holidays. Once a human, you have now been turned into a Pokemon. Discover the reason for your sudden transformation, why you can’t remember anything about your old life, and why all of the legendary and mythical Pokemon are turning to stone.
