SATX Exploration: Halcyon

On Sept. 30, Karianne Chupp and I went on a little coffee adventure downtown San Antonio, and found the hot spot, Halcyon: a coffee and lounge place for anyone who enjoys some nice music with a hot but not steaming coffee or an iced cold latte, espresso or even a mango, strawberry and banana smoothie for my sweet tooth peeps and the list goes on.

Why are the Oranges Yellow?

Everyone has gone through the cafeteria line more than a few times in their high school career. You grab your tray, utensils and napkins, decide whether you want a water, milk, or a gatorade. Then you scoot through the line picking and choosing the foods you want and thanking the kind lunchlady who grabbed you your extra enchilada. You choose your seat in the patio, regular eating area or if you’re a senior the senior dining hall. You look down at your tray looking to see where you should start, then you realize “hey, why are my oranges yellow?”

Second Amendment needs overhaul

A massive shooting took place in Las Vegas on Oct. 30. Stephen Paddock, a 64-year-old man, killed 58 people and injured hundreds of others. He had 23 firearms in his hotel room and twelve of the rifles were modified with a “bump stock,” which allows it to fire faster. In Nevada, “bump stocks” can be bought without a permit. All the purchases Paddock made were legal.
