Up until Dec. 10, the MacArthur Student Media team is accepting numerous types of pet supplies as donations. The types of supplies that are asked for include, but are not limited to leashes and collars, blankets (of any size), dog and cat toys, vinegar, paper towels, hand sanitizer, laundry detergent, bleach, and Dawn dishwashing liquid.
“Donations will be sent to the Animal Defense League of Texas,” yearbook marketing manager, junior, Diana Campos said. “We want to give something back to the community and we focus on animals, which is one of the groups that is not normally taken into account.”
There are three donation boxes throughout the school for students to drop off their donations at. There is one in the main office, one in the science building, and one in Room C351.
“We want to help this shelter that helps abandoned, abused, or neglected dogs and cats,” Campos said.
Campos and the Student Media team are optimistic that the drive will make a difference for Texas animals in need.
“We don’t have an exact [goal] amount, but we only want the students to help with what they can. All donations are welcome!” Campos said.
