Girls Basketball Dominates Roosevelt

The girls basketball team is closing out their season strong as they faced off against the Roosevelt Roughriders and beat ‘Velt 43-14. 

“I loved the communication and teamwork we had on the court all around,” junior Ariya Anderson said. 

The team went on a total take over their high power offense loading up the scoreboard and their lockdown defense holding the Roughriders under double digits a majority of the game. Many of the younger players on the team showed out on the court in the big win. 

“It felt great to work as a team together and bounce back from last week,” junior Nicole Wallace said.

Wallace was the leading scorer and rebounder of the night. The team does have a losing record in the district but has shown flashes of how great they can be. 

“I think if we continue to play the way we have been lately and all staying connected as a team, I think we can be a strong program next year,” junior Giselle Stem said

 

Moments before the start of the varsity game the JV fought tough against the Roughriders but ended up falling short in overtime, junior Solana Beebe drives to the paint to tie the game in the fourth quarter.
