Working on the perfect wing and the perfect hit to make that tennis ball fly to the other side will be the goal for almost every tennis player. For Keely Ussery this sport is very important to her, this is her life. Keely’s mom had put her in tennis when she was little and has kept on since then.
The band department placed 1st in their division and 8th overall at finals on Saturday Oct. 15.
On Oct. 20-22, the drama department performed a William Shakespeare play called, “Twelfth Night Or What Will You?” directed by Margret Jonra. Showing times were at 7pm on Friday and Saturday and at 2pm on Sunday evening in the Bradley Auditorium.
Picture yourself getting the opportunity to become an exchange student, leaving the U.S to another country. All the new things you’d get to experience and become accustomed to would be thrilling and quite interesting. For Rita Garcia-De-Borito the process was hard, especially having to study a new language since she didn’t already know English, adapting to a new environment, and coping with new people. As she has settled in, Rita claims it has gotten so much easier than it was from the start.
Ms.Erica Garcia is the new sophomore english teacher at school. For the last couple of years, Ms.Erica Garcia taught at Kennedy High School then transferred here. She is from a little small town in the valley and graduated from Texas State.
Angelina Sandoval is a sophomore here at MacArthur, she moved here a little late but she already loves it here.
The Skate Club is sponsored by Mrs. Beres, the AVID teacher, for skaters who want to practice and improve their skating skills and also to go outdoors at LBJ Park; they also meet in room A210 on Tuesday mornings for meetings.

On September 29th the Choral Department presented their first showcase of the 2016-2017 school year. All of the groups delivered their share of music to the audience where it echoed throughout the auditorium.
