What could be better than dinner and a show?

Thursday night choir hosted its first concert of the school year to garner interest in its booster club.

“We sold over 200 plates of spaghetti,” Edie Cooksey said of the preview concert. “It was a great turn out.”

Each choir belted out one song. Madison Avenue preformed the national anthem then sang and danced to “Right Here Waiting.” Camarata serenaded the crowd with a rendition of ABBA’s “Chiquitita.” The Chorale women preformed “Seal Lullaby” and both Chorale choirs gave a sneak peak at the musical of the year, Guys and Dolls. Melodie and Nouvelle also teamed up to preform “Blackbird” while Kantorei sang “Cats in the Cradle.”

“I like that it [choir] does new, modern music,” freshman Andrew Rivera said.

The concert was just a snapshot of what is to come this year in choir like the talent show on Sept. 22, the school musical later in the year and Jersey Boys Sept. 26.

“I love Jersey Boys,” parent Mary Carranza said of the upcoming event. “It’s my favorite.”
