Future Farmers of America (FFA) had an unusual kick off on Sept. 8. On top of their “Burger Bash” barbeque to inform the parents on upcoming events and news, they also had a unique competition, called the “AG Olympics.” The competition included games like twister (the spots were mustard, mayonnaise, ketchup, and pickle relish), chocolate pudding races, sponge dodge ball, and tug o’ war.

“I had lots of fun, [and] got really dirty,” freshman Jacob Wildman said.

The 300 FFA members were split into teams to compete against each other, though there was not a overall winner. It  gave the department a great way to get to know each other while getting a little dirty. Many people came together to make the event what it was, ending in a successful kick off for the organization.

“Ag Olympics and Burger Bash were a great way to kick-off the year with some food and fun,” agriscience teacher Deanna Roeder said.
