Mavs Bring Big Numbers

This year’s football team is delivering big numbers from players that weren’t so big last season and it seems to be the key the boys needed.

On Sept. 14 the Mavs took on the New Braunfels Unicorns and boarded the bus home with their second 30 point win (51-21) making their record 2-1.

“I think everyone knew we lost to a really good team [Tivy],” head coach Jim Streety said. “But we worked hard and we’ve been successful.”

This game our Dream Team delivered. Junior quarterback Cody Ennis was delivering passes down field, resulting in four touchdowns for Marquis Warford and touchdowns for Dannon Cavil and Galen McAllister.

Entering the second half, the Mavs were up 31-7 and didn’t let the large lead get the best of them. Throughout the game, the Unicorns could not stop the offense. The boys scored on drives as short as three plays and as long as 12.
