Mavs Fall Short Against Rivals

After five hard fought games, the end game tally came out to a disappointing 2-3 loss against MacArthur High School.

“We believed that we could win and we wanted to win,” senior volleyball player Remington Geffken said.
The team came out strong with two games too nothing. Then mac slipped their way in ending the next two games with a 2-4 point lead. In the last game it went point to point until Mac pulled out the final 2 points they needed to make it 19-17 and win the game overall.
A big part of the game was the two student sections, both were very energetic in supporting their teams and made the game even more exciting than it already was.
“The game was hype,” junior Troy Guajardo said. “The Mac and Madison student sections really got everyone pumped up.”

Throughout the game the team faced many challenges and had to do a lot to be ready to face those challenges.
“For months we practiced getting ready for the game, every practice and pre-season game was to prepare it,” Geffken said. “Mentally being tough enough to beat Mac.”
